Oceanweaver Art Shawls
The Ocean Art Shawls emerged from a period of material research and experimentation in a small studio in Bali. Working with eco cotton, I explored hand-applied tie-dye techniques as a way to study movement, water, and organic pattern, allowing intuition, rhythm, and process to guide the designs.
What began as tests and studies gradually formed a collection. Each shawl carries the trace of this exploration: fluid lines, shifting tones, and patterns shaped by hand rather than repetition. No two pieces are exactly alike.
The choice to work in this studio was intentional. Pagimotley operates within principles of social entrepreneurship and slow fashion, offering a space where learning, care, and responsibility are part of the making process. Here, I deepened my understanding of natural color, botanical dye practices, and alternative ways of producing fashion, slower, more attentive, and less extractive.
The Oceanweaver Art Shawls are born from the meeting of nature’s hues and artisanal making. Created by hand in a small dye studio in Bali, each shawl carries the spirit of the ocean, the warmth of tropical light, and the quiet creativity of place.
These pieces are made with eco cotton and botanical colors drawn from natural materials, the very palette of sea, sand, sunrise, and sky. The technique is a mindful tie‑dying process that lets color ebb and flow across the fabric, creating unique variations that feel both expressive and grounded.
Mango Magic reflects the radiant warmth of sun‑light on tropical shores. Indigo Waves channels the deep, shifting blues of the sea’s embrace. Coconut Bliss evokes the serenity of early morning light with soft, calm tones. Each shawl is a wearable piece of art that carries a subtle story of place and process.
More than just color and cloth, these shawls are rooted in slow, thoughtful making, attentive to material, mood, and movement. They are meant to be wrapped around the body as companions on quiet moments, warm mornings, or travels that ask for comfort and presence.
